“ORANGE BAN LANDS AMISH BUGGY DRIVERS IN JAIL”

Members of the Amish community have been jailed in Kentucky for refusing to display orange safety triangles on their horse-drawn buggies and then not paying the subsequent fines. Their religion forbids them from wearing or displaying bright colours. Facing up to 10 days in prison, they were issued with blue jumpsuits rather than usual orange prison uinform

Raymond BentleyRaymond Bentley trained in sculpture and lithography at St Martin's School of Art, London.

His work has been exhibited by The Royal Watercolour Society, The New English Art Club, The Royal Institute of Painters in Oil, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, and Artsbank, Saltburn. His corporate clients have included The University Of Maryland, Shand Kidd, and The First National Bank of Chicago.

He is a member of The National Society of Painters, Sculptors & Printers, and a member of The Chelsea Arts Club.

Raymond now lives, works and exhibits in Saltburn-by-the-sea, in the north east of England.
